About Our Dementia Action Groups
Our Dementia Action Groups bring people together across regions to create communities that understand, include, and support those living with dementia. Guided by the values of community, education, advocacy, support, and wellness, we work collaboratively to build awareness, strengthen connections, and inspire meaningful change. Through monthly meetings, creative programs, and partnerships with local organisations, we promote brain health, share knowledge, and stand beside carers and families. Together, we’re creating a more compassionate, dementia-friendly future for all.
Our Dementia Friendly Areas
Blue Mountains
We meet every month to talk about what our community needs and how we can make things even better. Together, we set goals, share ideas, and take action to create positive change for everyone. Our meetings often include local service providers who share valuable workshops and information to help us all learn and grow. Your feedback means a lot to us — we’d love to hear your thoughts and keep building a stronger, more connected community together.

CALD
Our Mission: Bridging Culture and Care We founded this organization because we’ve been where you are. We know the weight of not being understood and the exhaustion of searching for resources that don't seem to exist for people like us.
As individuals with lived experience, we understand that dementia support isn’t "one-size-fits-all." It must be woven into the vibrant, multicultural fabric of our lives. We are committed to prioritizing Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) inclusion by:
-
Breaking Language Barriers: Ensuring vital support is accessible in the language of your heart, not just your second language.
-
Promoting Cultural Safety: Respecting the unique values and family structures that shape your care journey.
-
Challenging Stigma: Starting honest, cross-cultural conversations to replace isolation with understanding.

Parramatta
Dedicated to transforming our city into a place where people living with dementia, including those with Younger Onset Dementia (YOD), feel seen, valued, and supported. By bridging the gap between clinical care and community life, we focus on a three-tier approach: education, inclusion, and proactive brain health.
