Founder | Regional CEO – Liverpool & Canterbury-Bankstown | Dementia Advocate & Cultural Liaison Consultant
I am Sanna Sartawy, Founder of Inspired Network Support Services and Regional CEO for the Dementia Action Groups in the Liverpool and Canterbury-Bankstown regions. My mission is to build communities where people living with dementia and their carers are supported with compassion, dignity, and understanding.
With over 30 years of volunteer experience in nonprofit organisations, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering others through connection, education, and collaboration. My advocacy began through my personal journey caring for my mother, which opened my eyes to the emotional, cultural, and systemic barriers that families face. That journey inspired my lifelong purpose: to ensure no carer or family walks this path alone.
Holding a Diploma in Community Welfare, I bring both professional expertise and community insight to my work. Through my teaching experience and youth engagement, I’ve organised programs and events that nurture understanding across generations. My work bridges culture, education, and health to make awareness and inclusion accessible to all.
I’ve shared my mother’s story with the Australian Human Rights Commission, highlighting discrimination in care, and with Dementia Australia’s Hold the Moment podcast, where I shared her dementia journey to help others feel understood and supported. These experiences deepened my commitment to advocate not only for dementia awareness but also against the discrimination and stigma faced by diverse communities.
As a Cultural Liaison Consultant, I help organisations break down barriers, build cultural competence, and create dementia-friendly environments that honour Australia’s diversity. Joining the Dementia Action Groups allows me to continue what I value most—collaboration, compassion, and courage—working together to shape communities where inclusion and dignity are the norm, not the exception.
